In Chartered Accountancy course CA foundation is an entrance test. It is previously known as CPT. The CA foundation syllabus is divide into 4 subjects, out of which 2 subjects are objective and remaining 2 subjects are subjective. This CA foundation entrance exam tests the basic knowledge of the student that what the candidate have gained in his/her secondary classes. The pass percentage of foundation course is 30%-35%.

First Biggest Challenge of CA Students – CA Intermediate
This is one of the biggest challenge of CA students. The CA intermediate level is the second stage of CA course. The intermediate stage is also known as IPCC. This challenge starts soon after the student clears the foundation test. The syllabus of CA IPCC course consists of 8 subjects which are divided into 2 groups. The ICAI conducts CA IPCC exams. The ICAI provides opportunity to the students to attempt individual group or to attempt both groups at a time. Many students beat this challenge after many attempts. Generally the pass percentage of CA Intermediate is 10%.
Second Biggest Challenge of CA Students – Articleship Training
Articleship training is the second biggest challenge of CA students. The students who have cleared both groups of CA IPCC or one group of CA intermediate course are eligible to undergo article ship training. This articleship training is the step which the student steps into practical world of CA.
In this articleship training the student faces all the challenges which train them for the future. Many students and ICAI refers that articleship training is the golden period in CA curriculum. The students gains a lot of practical knowledge during the time of this articleship training. This is the toughest and hard time for for a CA student and the candidate should work for a stipend which is lower than the salary of a office boy. the more you struggle in the article ship program the less struggle you face after becoming CA.
Many students don’t take this articleship program seriously, they take it lite and waste their valuable time by doing dummy article ship. The articleship program is for a period of 3 years in which a student learns more about chartered accountancy. So, utilize this period wisely in order reduce burden after becoming CA.
Third Biggest Challenge of CA Students – CA Final
This is the 3rd and last biggest challenge of CA students. CA Final is the last stage of the CA course. The students after completing 2.5 years of articleship training and clearing both the groups of IPCC are eligible to apply for CA final. This is the biggest challenge among 3 levels because you hard work in the 5 years will be tested in this stage. The final stage of CA course tests ones knowledge, hard work, intelligence, memory and practical knowledge.
The pass percentage of CA final generally lies between 8% – 10%. Many students clear this level after many attempts. 80% of the students take 3 or more attempts to complete this level. The students takes many attempts because they lack focus on studies. The 3 year articleship program deviates a student from studies. It is also difficult to cover entire syllabus of CA final in 6 months.
The solution to clear CA final is the student should be regular with their studies during the period of articleship program. Many students tell that they won’t get time from the office to manage studies, but remember the thing that you have chosen CA profession, which is the difficult one.
