Company Secretary is one of the best profession in India. There are 3 levels of exams to become a company secretary. CS Foundation is the 1st level of Company Secretary course. Company Secretary Foundation Course Eligibility

There is a certain eligibility criteria for any exam, so like that there is eligibility criteria for CS foundation course. The aspirant to pursue CS foundation course should complete 10+2 of stream arts, sciences and commerce except fine arts from a recognized board. The candidate who is pursuing final year of intermediate can also apply for CS foundation exam, but they should provide proof of passing intermediate at the time of the exam.

Registration For CS Foundation

The students can apply for CS foundation course once the student reaches the eligibility criteria. The ICSI is the conducting body of the company secretary course exams. The ICSI conducts CS foundation exam 2 times a year in months of June and December. The student should register for foundation course by visiting official website of ICSI.

The students should register for CS foundation through online mode. If the student wants  to attempt the foundation exam in June then he/she should apply before September 28 of the previous year and if the students wants to attempt exam in December then the candidate should apply before March 31 of the same year.

There are 4 papers for CS foundation level, in order to complete foundation level the student should clear all the 4 papers and should score good marks. The 4 papers are of objective type and each paper is conducted for 100 marks. There are MCQ type questions and each question carries 1 mark, there is also negative marking for each wrong attempt.

The Duration of Foundation level is 8 months, excluding the months of admission and the examination. The students who have applied for foundation level are required to pass the Foundation examination within 3 years from the date of their admission.

Syllabus

There are 4 papers for CS foundation level. Each paper is conducted for 100 marks. The 4 papers consists of objective type questions.

Part A : Economics (80 marks)

Part B : Elementary Statistics (20 marks)

  • Paper 4 : Fundamentals of Accounting And Auditing

Part A : Fundamentals of Accounting (70 marks)

Part B : Fundamentals of Auditing (30 marks)

The all 4 papers of CS foundation course are objective type questions and there is a negative marking. For each wrong answer 0.25 mark is deducted and for each correct answer 1 mark is awarded.

Foundation Level Syllabus For CS Course

The syllabus for foundation level is different for different papers. The ICSI issues the syllabus for foundation level exam. There are 4 papers in foundation stage and the syllabus varies from one paper to another.
